Today we had a visit from the NIFRS. Two firefighters came to our class and we were able to ask them some questions about what it’s like to work in the Fire Service. Everyone asked excellent questions and we found out lots of information about the fire service and how fire fighting has changed since The Great Fire of London in 1666. Miss Gowing tried on some of their gear and she said it felt very heavy. We all went outside to look at the equipment and then everyone had a turn at sitting inside the fire engine. It was so interesting and great fun.
