Armagh Cathedral - Archbishop Robinson and Lisnadill PS
I was in Armagh Cathedral this morning and took these pictures of Archbishop Robinson’s statue , the person who built the cathedral.
Does any of boys and girls notice what is above Archbishop Robinson’s head?
If you look very closely , our school badge is above his head. Our school badge is Archbishop Robinson’s family crest and after building the cathedral and Royal School , Armagh , he decided he wanted to build a parish church at Lisnadill .
Seven years later he built our school in 1780 (the little building on the left half way up the Lisnadill hill). In 6 years time we’ll be celebrating our 250 year anniversary and are proud that our school is the oldest Primary School in Ireland that is still open .
